Why Earthing ?

Earthing is the process of creating an alternative path for the flow of fault/excessive currents safely into the ground in the presence of minimal resistance or impedance. The primary purpose of earthing is to reduce the risk of serious electric shock from current leaking into uninsulated metal parts of an appliance, power tool, or other electrical devices. In a properly earthed system, such leaking/fault current is carried away harmlessly while tripping the fuse. Earthing also provides protection from large electrical disturbances like lightning strikes and power surges. It also aids in the dissipation of hazardous static electrical charges. Although most electrical systems have fuses or circuit breakers for protection against a fault current, the human body may be fatally electrocuted by a current of less than one ampere which is well below the point at which a fuse . Earthing helps minimize such hazards from occurring. JSE electron is compound with high/fast discharge character which has carbon carbonized basedtechnology to retain/maintain the moisture in rocky/sand area,after installation, JSE electron gets converted into “thickgel” which retains the moisture up to 20 times & reduces electrolytic corrosion by 90%. Lightning arrester is used on electrical power systems and telecommunications systems to protect the insulation and conductors of the system from the damaging effects of lightning. The typical lightning arrester has a high-voltage terminal and a ground terminal. When a lightning surge (or switching surge, which is very similar) travels along the power line to the arrester, the current from the surge is diverted through the arrestor, in most cases to earth.

These prevent the flow of the normal power or signal currents to ground, but provide a path over which high-voltage lightning current flows, bypassing the connected equipment. Their purpose is to limit the rise in voltage when a communications or power line is struck by lightning or is near to a lightning strike.

If protection fails or is absent, lightning that strikes the electrical system introduces thousands of kilovolts that may damage the transmission lines, and can also cause severe damage to transformers and other electrical or electronic devices. Lightning-produced extreme voltage spikes in incoming power lines can damage electrical home appliances or even produce death.


Spike Lightning Arrestor

Spike Lightning Arrestor is a metal rod, made of copper and, used as part of lightning safety to protect tall or isolated structures (such as the roof of a building or the mast of a vessel) from lightning damage. Lightning is the leading cause of weather related damage to building equipments. With average lightning currents of 20 to 30 kilo amps and heat energy in excess of 20,000°C, the need for improved lightning protection is evident. On the ground of our observations and experiences gained in this field, we recommend to install the lightning protection on the structure regardless of the existence of a strike hazard level.

Early Streamer Emission

The application of the Lightning Protection System to provide the highest levels of lightning protection for buildings from lightning. Based upon individual site parameters, such as structure dimensions, terminal type and protection level, each Lightning Protection System design is customized for the project and provides elevation, 3D and plan views resulting in specific designs optimized for your facility.


  • The Early Streamer Emission air terminal offered by JSE is a non-electronic system. The absence of electronic makes it extremely reliable and easy to install on a very large variety of sites. In addition, the materials used to make Air Terminal have been selected for their resistance to both corrosion and very high temperatures.
  • An Early Streamer Emission air terminal is designed to reduce the average statistic time associated with streamer emission. An ese lightning air terminal presents a gain in early streamer emission time compared to a Simple Rod device, placed in the same conditions. The gain is evaluated in a high voltage laboratory.
  • The ESE Air Terminal lightning Arrestor has been extensively tested at an independent high voltage laboratory in accordance with the requirements of French NF C 17-102.
